A transgender woman has been sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in prison for making false rape accusations against six men. Khloe Simmonds, 26, was convicted of eight counts of perverting the course of justice for allegations made between July 2018 and January 2026.
During the investigation period, Simmonds spent hundreds of hours with police, presenting herself as a victim of serious sexual assault. At one point, her false claims accounted for 2.5 percent of all sexual assault allegations in Harrow, west London. Several men accused of rape were arrested and detained before being released.
Judge John Lodge stated that Simmonds's actions constituted a "sustained pattern of conduct, not isolated incidents" and impacted the resources available to assist genuine victims of serious crime. Simmonds, who is pre-operative, was referred to using female pronouns during court proceedings.
False Allegations Detailed
Prosecutors outlined several instances of fabricated accusations. In 2018, Simmonds claimed an Afghan national raped her at knifepoint. The man was arrested and investigated for 88 days, vehemently denying the allegation and stating Simmonds had made unwanted advances. He described the arrest and subsequent investigation as "humiliating."
In February 2022, Simmonds alleged that a man she met on the dating app Grindr raped her after he left her flat. She called emergency services, claiming rape and that her drink may have been spiked. The accused was arrested and stated that while he was in the restroom, his beer was replaced with whisky. His victim impact statement described the ordeal as "traumatic."
Just one month later, Simmonds accused a taxi driver of rape. However, data from the taxi's vehicle showed it had not stopped or significantly slowed down during the journey, a detail that "annihilated the allegation." Simmonds later admitted to police that this and other allegations were false and that she had lied while intoxicated.
In June 2022, Simmonds accused a musician she met on Grindr of rape after he fell asleep on her sofa following a date. She called the police claiming oral rape, despite no sexual contact occurring. The musician was arrested but maintained his innocence, stating in his victim impact statement that it was "deeply distressing that an innocent person could be subjected to such a traumatic process because of a deliberate lie."
Simmonds also falsely accused an unknown man of rape on three occasions in November 2025 and another man between December 2018 and February 2022. One victim reported that the false allegations led to the end of his relationship, estrangement from his family, and three suicide attempts.
In January, Simmonds claimed she was raped on a park bench by a man she met that evening. CCTV footage later exonerated the man, showing no assault occurred.
Defense and Sentencing
Dominic Benthall, representing Simmonds, noted that she has been diagnosed with autism and ADHD and has a history of alcohol dependency, suggesting an underlying mental health difficulty.
Simmonds previously pleaded guilty to eight counts of tending and intending to pervert the course of public justice. She was sentenced on Monday, September 7, at Harrow Crown Court.
