Transgender Former Officer Confesses to Rape of Teen
A former anti-terror police officer who identifies as transgender confessed to raping a 15-year-old girl in a McDonald's restroom in Germany.
Maja S., 55, admitted to the rape at the Traunstein Regional Court, appearing in handcuffs and leg irons. The court is considering a three-and-a-half-year prison sentence in exchange for the confession.
Maja S. was initially held in a women's prison after her arrest but has spent the last five months in the men's section of Stadelheim prison. Her defense lawyer, Peter Dürr, stated that she faces significant hardship, including being whistled at during exercise periods and subjected to examinations by male officers.
Authorities discovered approximately 2,000 files of child and animal pornography in Maja S.'s possession, along with a Kalashnikov rifle. Investigations indicate that the alleged criminal activity began in 2024 when Maja S. uploaded pornographic material for pedophiles, including depictions of the abuse of very young children. These uploads led to raids at Maja S.'s police station and home, where colleagues seized further child and bestiality pornography, as well as the rifle.
Maja S. was suspended from police duties and subsequently fined €19,000 (approximately $16,000 USD). During the ongoing investigations, Maja S. invited the 15-year-old daughter of an acquaintance on a motorcycle trip, which concluded at a McDonald's restroom. According to prosecutors, Maja S., described as physically stronger, took advantage of the victim's surprise, entered the cubicle after her, and locked the door.
The rape, which occurred in August 2025, came to light when Maja S.'s fiancé, Stefanie Z., discovered a sexually explicit message on Maja S.'s phone. Stefanie Z. confronted the teenager in October 2025, recalling her shock and distress upon learning that the girl had "somehow ended up in the toilet with Maja, that she had kissed her and touched her all over."
Stefanie Z. reported the incident to the Federal Police on behalf of the child. The indictment states the victim was unable to react and stared at the accused in shock before Maja S. left the cubicle. The victim, described as trembling and with her heart pounding, then locked herself in the toilet.
Investigators allege Maja S. assaulted the 15-year-old on another occasion following a trip to a swimming pool. The victim reportedly woke up the next morning in Maja S.'s bed without any clothes on, with no recollection of what had transpired.
At the beginning of the trial, Maja S. confessed to most of the charges behind closed doors, a move intended to spare the victim from having to testify. Maja S. has been ordered to pay the victim €5,000. The trial remains ongoing.
