Trans Activists Stage Hormone Injection Protest Outside NYU Hospital

Transgender activists staged a protest outside NYU Langone Health hospital, injecting themselves with cross-sex hormones in a video that has circulated online. The demonstration occurred days after the hospital reached an agreement with the Department of Justice to halt sex-change treatments for minors.

In the video, a person with a bullhorn declared, "We're taking our HRT here at the doors of the people who have given up to demystify, normalize, and celebrate our trans bodies in the face of NYU's cowardice," referring to hormone replacement therapy.

The footage shows several individuals, some wearing masks, preparing and administering injections. A crowd of supporters, some holding signs reading "Protect Trans Kids" and "Resist," observed the protest. Another banner read "No compliance with Trump's bias."

The video, shared on X by Freedom News TV, elicited strong reactions online. Commentators expressed views ranging from claims of mental illness to descriptions of the movement as "crazed" and normalizing "cultish pseudo-medical practices."

The DOJ announced its agreement with NYU Langone and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) following an investigation into the institutions for allegedly providing what the department described as "sex-rejecting procedures" to children, often referred to as "gender affirming care."

Under the terms of the agreements, NYU and UPMC will cease administering puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to minors, as well as performing related surgical procedures. NYU Langone agreed to pay $8.5 million, while UPMC agreed to pay $950,000. The DOJ stated that these resolutions do not constitute an admission of liability, and both hospitals deny wrongdoing.

Attorney General Todd Blanche commented in a DOJ statement, "The Department of Justice is fighting to protect our nation’s children and working tirelessly to reach agreements with hospitals to end so-called ‘gender affirming care’ for minors. Today’s resolutions send a clear message: hospitals that target children in these practices and then fraudulently obtain payment for the procedures will be held to account."
