Traitors Winner Praises Host Maya Jama's Performance

Rachel Duffy, a joint winner of Series 4 of the BBC reality competition "The Traitors," has expressed her admiration for host Maya Jama's performance on the show. Duffy, who was a contestant playing as a Faithful, noted Jama's success in embodying the role of a Traitor. "Absolutely killing it," Duffy commented on Jama's execution.

Maya Jama, known for her role on "Love Island," has been embracing her villainous persona as one of the Traitors. Despite the pressures of the game, she has managed to evade suspicion from the Faithful contestants. Jama herself acknowledged the intensity of the role, sharing behind-the-scenes insights. She admitted that recruiting James Acaster and Hannah Fry, who had expressed reluctance to be Traitors, was a "stupid decision." This choice, she explained in a TikTok video, was made without knowing their initial reservations.

Jama described the demanding schedule, often going to bed late due to strategic discussions in the "turret" and experiencing minimal sleep. She revealed that by episode four, she had stopped washing her hair to maximize sleep. The show's format, which involves contestants being cut off from the outside world, contributes to a high-tension environment. Sources indicate that this stress and paranoia can spill over into real life, with contestants remaining "at one another's throats" even when cameras stop rolling.

The series has seen several eliminations, including US actress Myha'la and former "Coronation Street" star Julie Hesmondhalgh. Reports suggest that the intense atmosphere and perceived wrong decisions at the round table have fueled the paranoia among the contestants. Some participants reportedly struggled to cope with the stress, with one contestant described as having "lost their nerve." Comedian Rob Beckett's high-energy behavior also surprised co-stars and added to the tense filming conditions in Scotland.
