Trading Card Heist: $1M in Collectibles Stolen from FedEx Truck

Approximately $1 million worth of trading cards were stolen from a FedEx truck parked outside the Santa Ana headquarters of Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), authorities reported.

The theft occurred on October 13, when individuals broke into the unattended FedEx truck and removed nearly 250 packages. The Santa Ana Police Department stated that the stolen items included a variety of trading cards, such as sports cards and Pokémon cards.

Police indicated that the FedEx truck was left unattended for an estimated 60 to 90 minutes outside the PSA facility. The lock on the truck was reportedly broken before the packages were taken.

The Santa Ana Police Department estimated the value of the stolen cards at $963,000 at the time of the incident, though the exact final value is still being determined. PSA's parent company, Collectors, has deactivated the identification certificates for all stolen items and notified trading partners to watch for the rare and serialized cards.

In a statement, Collectors confirmed they are working with law enforcement and the shipping carrier as the investigation proceeds. One collector, known as Sky-B Cards on YouTube, reported that a shipment of 104 cards, insured for up to $156,000, was among the stolen items. Sky-B stated that the collection, accumulated over two years, contained many irreplaceable cards.

No arrests have been made in connection with the heist, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Santa Ana Police Department.
