Tracy Morgan Roasts Bronny James on Live TV
Comedian Tracy Morgan made a critical remark about Bronny James during pregame coverage of the Knicks vs. 76ers season opener.
Comedian and actor Tracy Morgan offered a harsh critique of Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James during the pregame broadcast of the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers season opener on Tuesday night. Morgan, a vocal Knicks fan, stated on national television, "Bronny looks like he’s got JUCO ball written all over him."
Morgan's comments came as the Lakers guard secured a spot on the team's opening night roster, a decision that was made shortly before the season began. The Lakers opted to keep James over small forward Dalton Knecht, a move that reportedly came down to the wire. Both players were drafted in 2024, with the Lakers selecting Knecht in the first round and James in the second.
James, son of LeBron James, has had a fluctuating presence on the Lakers' roster. He has split time between the G League and the active roster. Last season, he appeared in 42 games, averaging 8.9 minutes, 2.9 points, 0.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. During the preseason for the current year, his statistics showed a decline, with 11 points in five games and averaging 16.4 minutes per contest.
The 2026-2027 NBA season is anticipated to be a pivotal year for Bronny James as the Lakers begin a new era, playing without LeBron James for the first time in eight years. The Lakers are scheduled to open their season against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.
