Tovah Feldshuh Clarifies Cast Dynamics on 'Nobody Wants This' Amidst Brody's Palestine Comments

Tovah Feldshuh, a star of the Netflix series "Nobody Wants This," has addressed reports of cast tensions stemming from discussions about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, clarifying that while differing opinions exist, they are not leading to on-set feuds.

"Tensions are NOT RISING. Profound differences of opinion are," Feldshuh, 77, wrote on social media. She emphasized the importance of distinguishing between differing viewpoints and rising tensions, stating, "And none of it will be brought to the set." Feldshuh expressed her enjoyment of filming the series and her hope for a potential fourth season.

The comments came after her co-star, Adam Brody, who plays a rabbi in the show, publicly shared his views on the conflict. In a recent interview, Brody stated, "Put me down as thinking it’s a genocide. Put me down as wanting a free Palestine." He also expressed hope that a new administration could enact policies to improve the situation.

Feldshuh, who plays Brody's mother in "Nobody Wants This," has voiced strong disagreement with Brody's characterization of the situation. She told The Post, "To accuse the Jewish people of genocide is wild. It’s right out of Hitler’s playbook. You take the victim and you make the victim the perpetrator."

She added that her role, both as her character Bina and as herself, is to maintain kindness and professionalism on set. "My job, as Bina but also as Tovah, is to love the people on set at my place of work, to be kind," she said.

Rabbi Steve Leder, who served as the technical advisor for the first season of "Nobody Wants This," also criticized Brody's stance, referring to him as an "ignorant Jew."

The series, which is loosely based on creator Erin Foster's relationship with her husband Simon Tikhman, follows Rabbi Noah Roklov (Brody) and his relationship with Joanne, a non-Jewish sex podcaster played by Kristen Bell. The third season of the show recently became available.
