Tourist Injured in Downtown LA Gunfight

A German tourist was injured Tuesday afternoon in a violent gunfight in a Downtown Los Angeles alley, according to authorities.

The incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. in an alley between South Figueroa and West Francisco streets. The Los Angeles Police Department reported that three men arrived in a black BMW and began firing at a male victim in the alley. The victim reportedly returned fire, and the suspects fled the scene in the BMW toward Figueroa Street.

The tourist, who was reportedly on his way to return a luxury rental car, was caught in the crossfire and sustained a gunshot wound to his arm. He told KTLA, "My car got hit… I got hit in the arm. There were guys shooting at each other, a whole bunch of people."

Another bystander was also wounded in the incident. Witnesses described a chaotic scene, with a McLaren supercar parked nearby sustaining bullet holes through its windshield.

Joshua Ramirez, who witnessed the event, told KTLA that he and a colleague assisted a heavily bleeding man near the McLaren shortly after the shooting.

It is currently unclear if the shooting was gang-related, and the LAPD is actively searching for the three suspects. No official information about the suspects has been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
