Tori Spelling, 53, has begun hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to manage perimenopause and is anticipating a significant side effect: an increased sex drive. The actress shared her expectations on the "Inside of You" podcast, stating she has been told her "sex urges" could be "through the roof."
While Spelling described herself as a "numbers girl" not inclined towards casual sex, she acknowledged that increased libido might lead to such possibilities in the future. HRT, which can involve a combination of estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone, is known to potentially enhance sex drive, improve vaginal lubrication, and regulate mood and energy levels. However, potential risks associated with HRT can include blood clots, strokes, breast cancer, and gallbladder disease.
Beyond physical aspects, Spelling expressed a desire for "mental sex," seeking a partner with whom she can experience intellectual challenges and "mental stimulation." She finds the idea of "dad jokes" unappealing and confessed that small talk during dinner is "exhausting."
Spelling, who is mother to five children—Liam, 19; Stella, 18; Hattie, 14; Finn, 13; and Beau, 9—from her marriage to ex-husband Dean McDermott, is currently focused on her career and her children. Her divorce from McDermott was finalized in November 2023. She stated she is not currently in an era where she is seeking a date, noting, "I always worried about this in life. Like, if I ever got a divorce, no one's going to date me with five kids."
She indicated that she and McDermott, who recently celebrated three years of sobriety, maintain a cooperative co-parenting relationship. The pair were seen together in June 2026 at their daughter Stella's high school graduation.
Spelling is also set to voice a fortune teller in the upcoming interactive horror video game "Ghosts," slated for release later this year.
