Top NASCAR Agent Charged With Assaulting Government Official
Rod Moskowitz, CEO of PROSPORT Management, was arrested and spent two nights in jail after an incident involving law enforcement.
Top NASCAR agent Rod Moskowitz has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon of a government official following his arrest and two-night stay in jail in North Carolina.
Moskowitz, 52, was booked into Mecklenburg County jail on Thursday, October 22, and released on Saturday, October 24, after posting a $1,000 bond. He heads the racing division of PROSPORT Management, an agency that represents prominent NASCAR drivers including Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, William Byron, Bubba Wallace, and Tyler Reddick.
An affidavit states that Moskowitz was arrested for allegedly driving his 2023 Toyota Sequoia in an "aggressive and reckless manner" on Thursday afternoon in Huntersville. Police officers were present for a "civil disturbance" when Moskowitz was observed operating his vehicle unsafely, causing it to enter a ditch.
According to the document, his car became momentarily stuck before he reversed it into a driveway. Officers and bystanders attempted to stop Moskowitz from continuing to drive, as there was concern he might injure those present. The affidavit details that one officer "waved his hands in an unobstructed view" and struck the vehicle in an effort to make him stop.
It is alleged that an officer had to move out of the path of the vehicle three separate times to avoid being struck. Ultimately, two officers were able to remove Moskowitz from the car and place him under arrest.
Moskowitz is listed as CEO of PROSPORT Management. The company describes itself as a "leading talent management agency with deep expertise in the business of professional sports," and specifically calls itself the "premier talent representation firm in NASCAR."
PROSPORT Management also represents several USMNT soccer players, including Walker Zimmerman, Tanner Tessman, and Drake Calendar, as well as LIV Golf players such as Bubba Watson, Geoff Ogilvy, and Kevin Na. Pittsburgh Steelers player DK Metcalf is also represented by the agency, which Moskowitz co-owns with golf agent Jens Beck and soccer agents Mike Gartlan and Oscar Olsen.
