Tony Blair: Europe Cannot Win War Without U.S. Support

Former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair has warned that Europe would be unable to prevail in a conflict without the backing of the United States, emphasizing the importance of preserving the alliance with President Donald Trump.

"If we get drawn into a conflict without the support of America, we don't win," Blair stated in an interview. He added, "This is an essential relationship. And the reason why I thought we should have supported President Trump when he asked for the use of our bases is in circumstances where your ally is an indispensable part of your security, and they come asking for help, it’s wise to give it to them."

Blair, who served as Britain’s prime minister from 1997 to 2007, described the U.S.-U.K. relationship as a critical component of Western security amid ongoing debates among European nations regarding the potential threat posed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

While Blair himself believes Putin does not pose a significant threat to countries outside of Ukraine, he acknowledged that many European leaders hold a different perspective. These concerns have been amplified by recent events, including the discovery of an explosives-laden drone near a cargo plane in Germany and reports of airspace violations and arson attributed to Russian actions.

The United States and European allies continue to explore strategies to bolster Ukraine's defense and deter Russian aggression, while seeking to avoid direct involvement in the conflict.
