Tommy Hilfiger presented his spring 2027 collection at the iconic Plaza Hotel in New York City on Thursday, drawing a star-studded crowd that included professional athletes, musicians, and actors. The event, held in the hotel's Palm Court, featured more than 50 celebrities and cast members from Hilfiger's recent viral ad campaign.
Front-row attendees included Knicks players Josh Hart, Miles McBride, and Karl-Anthony Towns, along with his wife Jordyn Woods. Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor and Olympic gymnast Suni Lee were also present. Musicians such as Camila Cabello, Jisoo, 21 Savage, and Coco Jones were in attendance, as were actors Lisa Rinna and Victoria Justice.
The collection itself embraced a preppy aesthetic, with Hilfiger remixing classic styles and playing with proportions. Oversized pants, lengthened polo shirts, and asymmetrical button-downs were featured. Gigi Hadid opened the show in an ensemble that included oversized red pleated pants, a t-shirt, a tan blazer, and a navy bucket hat.
Several attendees, including actor Lukas Gage and Knicks player Miles McBride, commented on their past experiences with preppy fashion. "I was a goth for most of my teen years and then I went to a new high school in San Diego and tried to be a footballer, American preppy kid for a little bit," shared Gage, who wore a varsity jacket to the event. McBride noted that his all-boys Catholic high school required collared shirts, contributing to his own preppy phase.
The show also featured a live performance by electropop singer-songwriter Slayyyter. Following the runway finale, Hilfiger appeared with a Samoyed dog, drawing a strong reaction from the audience. Former Knicks player Carmelo Anthony praised the event, calling it "a big moment for New York."
The ad campaign for the new collection, which was filmed at the Plaza Hotel, stars Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Gigi Hadid, Jisoo, DJ Peggy Gou, Carmelo Anthony, and tennis player Frances Tiafoe. Kelce was unable to attend due to football commitments, and Tiafoe sent his regrets as he was preparing for the U.S. Open semi-finals.
Hilfiger, who has previously staged shows in New York landmarks like Grand Central Terminal and the Staten Island Ferry, noted his personal connection to the Plaza Hotel. He and his wife, Dee, lived in a penthouse there for over a decade, hosting numerous notable guests.
