Tomi Lahren Recalls Tony Romo's Advice Amid Quarterback's Recent Struggles

Former NFL quarterback Tony Romo, who recently parted ways with CBS to take a mental health break, is facing a period of public scrutiny. This comes after an arrest on OWI charges in Wisconsin and disqualification from a Korn Ferry qualifier for an incorrect scorecard. Amid these challenges, commentator Tomi Lahren recalled advice Romo offered her in 2016 regarding public backlash.

During an episode of "Tomi Lahren is Fearless," Lahren recounted a conversation with Romo where he advised her on handling online criticism. "It was actually Tony Romo at the time who told me, 'you think the whole world is talking about it, but really, nobody is,'" Lahren said, relaying Romo's message.

This advice was given to Lahren following criticism for her appearance on "The Daily Show with Trevor Noah" after the 2016 presidential election. Romo's message to her then was, "don't be so full of yourself that you think that everybody is talking about you," because "most people aren't even on the internet."

Lahren's guest, Kevin "KFC" Clancy of Barstool, agreed with the sentiment, opining that humans are not equipped to handle the constant influx of opinions from millions of people, a stark contrast to historical interaction within small communities. He suggested that modern connectivity is overwhelming.

Romo, a four-time Pro Bowl selection and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, has experienced a public career marked by resilience, including overcoming his undrafted status, a small college background, and numerous injuries. Lahren suggested that Romo, now 46, could benefit from the wisdom he shared years ago when he was 36, by remembering that public attention, while intense, may not be as widespread as it feels.
