Tombstone Pizza Unveils Controversial Candy Corn Topping for Halloween
The frozen pizza brand is offering a limited-edition combination that has sparked mixed reactions online.
Tombstone Pizza has introduced a new limited-edition offering for Halloween: a pizza topped with candy corn. The company announced the "Pizza Nobody Asked For™" as a seasonal novelty, available for $1.31 with shipping included.
The promotion includes a Tombstone cheese or pepperoni pizza accompanied by a side of candy corn. This unusual culinary creation will be available through three online drops on October 2, 9, and 23.
Tombstone Pizza shared images of the candy corn-topped pizza on social media, prompting a range of responses from consumers. "Insane, but I appreciate this," one user commented on Facebook, while another remarked, "Oh that is blasphemy." A third expressed, "This is gonna be gross."
The company, which was founded in 1962 and is owned by Nestle, embraced the unconventional nature of the product, stating in a press release, "Conjured in the spookiest corners of the internet, this Halloween season TOMBSTONE® proudly presents The Pizza Nobody Asked For™. And frankly, we regret absolutely nothing."
In related news, Heidi Klum has partnered with Butterfinger for a Butterfinger Pizza available at her New York City restaurant, Crazy Pizza, throughout October. Samples are also slated to be distributed at the Village Halloween Parade on October 31.
