Tom Welling Jokes About Accidental Nude Photo Exposure
The 'Smallville' star humorously responded to an Instagram reel poking fun at his revealing hotel window slip-up.
Tom Welling is taking his recent Instagram mishap in stride, responding with humor to his accidental exposure. The "Smallville" alum commented on an Instagram reel that satirized him inadvertently revealing himself in the reflection of his New York City hotel window.
The reel, which Welling later shared, depicts a tourist observing the actor in his hotel room. Text over the reel reads, "POV you’re a tourist in NYC and see Tom Welling standing at his hotel window on October 10th." Welling, 49, added the caption, "Came for the sights."
Welling also re-posted an Instagram Story from his "Smallville" co-star Michael Rosenbaum, which also playfully addressed the incident. Rosenbaum's story featured him jokingly taking a photo of the NYC skyline while his reflection showed him without pants, with the caption, "Just looking after my boy @tomwelling."
The original incident occurred when Welling posted a photo of the view from his hotel room to his Instagram Stories with the caption, "Hello, NYCC," referring to New York Comic Con. Fans quickly noticed that the window's reflection showed him without any clothes. The image remained online for approximately 10 hours before the actor deleted it, but screenshots had already circulated widely on social media.
On Sunday, Welling posted a new photo of himself speaking at Comic Con, writing, "Hope to see you all today at @newyorkcomiccon. Come say hi ! #25yearsofsmallville." Despite not directly referencing the nude photo incident, many fans left comments alluding to the revealing image.
"Smallville" ran for 10 seasons from 2001 to 2011. Welling and Rosenbaum, along with castmates Kristin Kreuk and Erica Durance, reunited for a panel at New York Comic Con on Sunday to commemorate the show's 25th anniversary.
