Tom Jones Cancels California Shows Due to Flu
The legendary Welsh singer was forced to postpone performances in Los Angeles and San Diego after falling ill.
Sir Tom Jones has canceled two scheduled California concerts after being diagnosed with a severe case of the flu. The cancellations include his Los Angeles performance at The Greek Theatre on Monday and his San Diego show at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park on Tuesday.
"I've had a great time these last few weeks, completing 20 shows and singing for wonderful audiences across the USA, but unexpectedly I've been hit with a bad case of the flu," Jones stated in a social media post. He added that, following medical advice, he had to reschedule the affected dates.
The Los Angeles show has been moved to November 4, and the San Diego concert is now scheduled for November 3. Jones is currently on his "Come Gather Round" tour, which began in the U.S. on September 18 in Highland Park, Illinois, after an initial leg in England starting in June.
Jones, known for hits like "She's a Lady," "Sex Bomb," and "Delilah," was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2006. He had completed 20 shows across the United States prior to falling ill.
