Tom Holland came to the assistance of his wife, Zendaya, when she experienced a wardrobe malfunction on Thursday as they departed a New York City hotel. The incident occurred as the couple was walking, with wind causing Zendaya's plunging black dress, which featured a thigh-high slit, to ride up.
Holland, noticing the issue, gestured to Zendaya, who then placed her hand on her dress to secure it. The pair, who were holding hands, proceeded to enter a waiting car.
The couple is currently in New York for the press tour of the film "The Odyssey." In the movie, Holland and Zendaya portray Telemachus and Athene, respectively. They star alongside a cast that includes Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Elliott Page, and Jon Bernthal.
During a Wednesday appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," Zendaya discussed her involvement in the film, noting that Holland had already been cast. She expressed her excitement about the project and her role, stating she hadn't initially considered herself for it until Holland showed her the script.
Holland, in turn, shared that Zendaya encouraged him to take on his role in "The Odyssey." He cited scheduling conflicts with "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" as a potential obstacle, but Zendaya's insistence played a key role in his decision. He recounted her telling him, "I’ll leave you if you don’t do ‘The Odyssey.'"
The couple publicly confirmed their relationship in 2021, five years after meeting on the set of "Spider-Man: Homecoming." Holland confirmed in a June interview with Esquire that they had married.
He described Zendaya as his "person" and "best friend," adding that he feels "the happiest" and most "supported and safe" when he is with her.
Following "The Odyssey," Holland and Zendaya are scheduled to appear together again in "Spider-Man 4," set for release on July 31.
