Tom Daley Transforms into Drag Persona 'Lady Godiva'
The retired Olympic diver shared the extensive process of becoming his drag alter-ego on Instagram.
Tom Daley, the retired Olympic diver, recently shared a detailed look at his transformation into his drag alter-ego, Lady Godiva, via Instagram. The 32-year-old athlete documented the lengthy process, which included applying full makeup and styling a blonde wig.
Daley also showcased the creation of Lady Godiva's fitted mint green midi-dress, which he knitted himself. He was joined in the transformation process by RuPaul's Drag Race star Plastique Tiara, who assisted in creating the drag persona. Daley posted a caption expressing his amazement at the result, writing, "Welcome to the stage… Lady Godiva, she’s a really good diver;). I still can’t believe this is me! THANK YOU @plastiquetiara."
Fans reacted positively to the transformation, with comments including "Lady Good Diver is iconic" and "She's like an uber glam Emma Watson." Daley's husband, Dustin Lance-Black, 52, also expressed his admiration, stating, "Oh my God, I'm straight now. I mean you are f*** beautiful, I don't understand what's happening to me, I always knew you were gonna make a beautiful woman but this is exceptional."
Daley, known for his fashion interests, retired from professional diving after winning a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He and Lance-Black, who married in 2017, have two sons, Robert Ray, eight, and Phoenix Rose, three, both born via surrogate. The couple relocated to Los Angeles from England.
Daley previously spoke about his relationship with Lance-Black, noting that their two-decade age difference feels insignificant. He told US Weekly, "One hundred percent. It's funny because the people that know us know that I'm the more mature person that kind of runs the show in the house. As we get older, I think we both align very well on what we want to achieve. We're both really big dreamers. I think that was the biggest thing for us, that we're both so supportive of each other. We don't limit the other person's dreams. We really make each other feel like we can achieve whatever we set our minds to."
