Tom Daley Reflects on Drag Makeover and Marriage
Olympic diver Tom Daley shared his experience of a drag makeover and discussed his marriage to Dustin Lance Black.
Olympic gold medalist Tom Daley recently underwent a dramatic drag makeover, transforming his appearance with heavy makeup and long blonde curls, courtesy of "RuPaul's Drag Race" star Plastique Tiara. The experience was shared on Tiara's YouTube channel, where Daley expressed his astonishment at his new look, commenting on Instagram, "I still can't believe this is me."
Daley, 32, who retired from professional diving after the 2024 Paris Olympics, earned one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals across five Olympic games. His husband, Dustin Lance Black, was equally surprised by Daley's transformation, humorously stating, "Oh my God, I'm straight now. I mean you are f*** beautiful, I don't understand what's happening to me... this is exceptional."
Daley, known for his love of crocheting, joked about picking up their children from school in his new persona. He and Black, who celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary earlier this year, share two sons, Robert Ray, seven, and Phoenix Rose, three, both born via surrogate. The couple married in 2017 after four years together, having met at a friend's dinner. Daley previously noted their 17-year age difference felt less significant over time, attributing their strong bond to shared dreams and mutual support.
"It was a real love-at-first-sight thing," Daley recalled of their early relationship. "The first night, I took him to meet my friends and said 'This is my boyfriend'. The next night we went on our first date. The next night he asked me to be his boyfriend. The night after that, after a couple of lychee martinis, he told me he loved me."
Following his retirement from diving, Daley and Black relocated from England to Los Angeles.
