Tom Cruise Says Taylor Swift 'Schooling' Him on Football

Tom Cruise recounted his experience watching the Kansas City Chiefs game alongside Taylor Swift, describing her as a "genius" who was "schooling" him on football.

Cruise, appearing on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," shared that he had not attended a football game since before the COVID-19 pandemic. He explained that Swift patiently explained the game to him. "She was bringing the football. First of all, she’s a genius," Cruise said. "I’ve been following her since she was a kid."

He added that Swift and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, referred to by Cruise as "a beautiful couple and magical in their own right," were surrounded by friends in their suite at Arrowhead Stadium.

When Fallon expressed disbelief that Swift was teaching Cruise about football, the actor insisted, "For real." He also noted that Swift admitted she knew little about the sport when she first started dating Kelce.

"She said, ‘You know, he’s so patient,’" Cruise recalled with a laugh. "I said, ‘I’m sure he was.’ I think everybody would be very patient [with her]."

Cruise also revealed that Swift and he discussed music and movies during their time at the game. "She’s funny. She’s got such a great sense of humor. A brilliant writer also, by the way. Brilliant musician and director. Very skilled," he praised.

Swift and Cruise were photographed together at the Chiefs' game against the Denver Broncos on Monday night. The appearance generated significant media attention, with onlookers speculating about their conversations.

ESPN host Pat McAfee, who was also in the suite, commented on the experience on his podcast. He described Swift as "kind" and "hospitable" and noted Cruise's remarkable composure, stating, "He doesn’t sweat."

Cruise had previously attended Swift and Kelce's July wedding, joining a large contingent of celebrities at the event.
