Actor Tom Cruise arranged a private screening of the film "The Odyssey" for AMC employees after he was unable to attend the initial IMAX event due to a thunderstorm that delayed his travel to New York City.
IMAX had scheduled a screening of the film at the AMC Lincoln Square on Wednesday evening, with Cruise expected to attend. However, a significant thunderstorm disrupted travel, causing Cruise to arrive at the venue after the screening had concluded. He eventually arrived at 10:45 p.m.
Despite the missed initial viewing, Cruise, a vocal advocate for the theatrical experience, ensured that AMC staff members who were working at the venue had the opportunity to see the movie. A source indicated that Cruise gathered employees who were on duty, including those involved with cleanup and concessions, and invited them to watch the film with him. IMAX subsequently re-screened "The Odyssey" for this private group.
Following the event, Cruise shared his positive review of "The Odyssey" on his Instagram account, encouraging his followers to see the film, which he described as "brilliant."
Cruise is slated to appear next in Alejandro G. Iñárritu's upcoming movie "Digger," scheduled for release in October.
