Tom Brady's recently opened trading card store, CardVault, in Palo Alto, California, was burglarized approximately a week after its grand opening. The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 23, according to arrest records from the Palo Alto Police Department.
Suspects gained entry by breaking a window. An estimated 60 trading cards valued at over $12,000 were reportedly stolen, and multiple display cases were smashed. Police stated that the suspects remain at large following the break-in. Brady had attended the store's grand opening on August 15, posing for a photo with a local police officer, an event noted on the Palo Alto Police Department's Instagram page.
This is not the first time a CardVault location has been targeted. In October 2025, approximately $10,000 worth of baseball and Pokémon cards were stolen from the company's New York City store.
Brady purchased a 50% ownership stake in CardVault in February 2025, leading to a rebranding as 'CardVault by Tom Brady.' He expressed his enthusiasm for the venture, stating, 'Sports collectibles and cards have been part of my DNA since childhood, and CardVault has set the gold standard for what a modern fan experience should be.'
The company has been expanding its retail presence, with plans for 100 locations across the U.S., and has also increased its digital reach. In February 2025, CardVault announced significant investment from notable figures including Aaron Judge, Connor McDavid, Dana White, and the Kraft Group, among others.
