A forthcoming biography by Lars Anderson explores rumors about Tom Brady's sexuality during his college years at the University of Michigan, according to reports.
The book, titled "The Untold Story of Tom Brady," delves into the quarterback's time with the Michigan Wolverines, a period when some teammates reportedly speculated about his personal life due to his quiet dating history. Anderson, a best-selling author, includes accounts suggesting that Brady's teammates considered the possibility of him being gay because he was rarely seen with women.
During his college career, Brady also faced significant physical challenges. He required immediate appendix removal, which led to a 25-pound weight loss and a subsequent "physical and psychological spiral." Despite these setbacks, Brady eventually became the starting quarterback for the Wolverines.
Anderson's work also touches on Brady's early career struggles, noting that he failed to make an initial impression on his Michigan coaches and teammates and "came very close to walking away" from the team. His tenacity, however, eventually led him to become a seven-time Super Bowl champion. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL draft as the 199th overall pick.
Brady's father, Tom Sr., was often present during his college years.
