A three-year-old boy was rescued from a pond and revived by bystanders at Bryngarw Country Park in Bridgend, Wales. The incident occurred when Stefan Johnson, who had recently completed a life-saving course, spotted what he initially thought was a child swimming and then realized was in distress in the water.
Johnson jumped into the pond and pulled the toddler out. He then began performing CPR on the boy, who is from Newport. Two nurses, Emma Brown and Kelsey Pirie, were reportedly on their way to a wedding ceremony when they intervened and assisted with resuscitation efforts until an ambulance arrived. The child was hospitalized, and his condition has been described as stable.
The father of two, who was at the park with his partner Sophie and their two children, recounted the moment of realization and the subsequent actions taken to save the child's life. He noted the importance of remaining calm and focused during the emergency. The event took place at the scenic park where the family was spending time outdoors.
