Toddler Left Playground Through Gap in Fence Before Drowning, Inquest Hears
Three-year-old Noah Woods' body was found in a pond in Suffolk after a large-scale search.
An inquest into the death of three-year-old Noah Woods heard that the toddler left a playground through a gap in a fence before his body was found in a pond in Suffolk. Police divers discovered the body of Noah, who had been the subject of a large search operation in the village of Brantham after going missing on September 15.
Assistant coroner Jyoti Gill described the case as a "very sad and tragic death" as she opened and adjourned the inquest.
According to police testimony at Suffolk Coroner's Court, Noah had exited the play area and entered a memorial garden through an open gate. He then proceeded down a path on a new housing estate toward Decoy Pond, where he was later found.
Authorities conducted a major search in the village following his disappearance. His body was recovered the following day.
