Toddler Found in Road After Wandering From Nursery
Parents express concern after toddler found in busy Swansea road, prompting investigation by nursery and authorities.
A two-year-old child was discovered in the middle of a busy road in Swansea after reportedly wandering away from the Seren Fach Day Nursery. The incident has raised significant concern among parents and the local community.
Seren Fach Day Nursery acknowledged the social media reports and stated that the safety and well-being of the children in their care are taken very seriously. In a statement, the nursery said it has established safeguarding and security procedures, along with staff training and risk assessments, all of which are being thoroughly investigated in response to the incident. The nursery has been a part of the community for over 30 years.
Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) confirmed it is unable to comment while inquiries are ongoing. However, CIW stated it would take any necessary action to ensure children's safety and well-being, working to ensure providers meet national minimum standards for regulated childcare, including safeguarding, premises security, and child protection. CIW encourages anyone with concerns about a child's care to contact them directly.
The nursery has requested that individuals avoid speculation on social media and instead direct any concerns to the nursery or relevant authorities for proper addressing.
