Former NFL All-Pro running back Todd Gurley traveled with President Donald Trump aboard Air Force One to a campaign rally in Dalton, Georgia, ahead of the November midterm elections. Gurley joined Trump for the flight to his home state, and the two were photographed together after disembarking at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta.
Gurley, a star player for the Georgia Bulldogs before being selected 10th overall in the 2015 NFL Draft, had a successful professional career, becoming a three-time Pro Bowler and earning Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2017 with the Los Angeles Rams.
This appearance continues a trend of Georgia football figures connecting with Trump. Earlier in the year, current Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton was acknowledged by Trump at a rally in Rome, Georgia. Additionally, former Georgia legend Herschel Walker, whom Trump endorsed, was appointed U.S. ambassador to the Bahamas.
The rally was Trump's third visit to Georgia in the year. He was joined at the event by Republican Senate candidate Mike Collins and gubernatorial nominee Rick Jackson as the party sought to mobilize voters for the upcoming election.
