Todd Chrisley Initially Opposed Daughter Savannah's Romance, Now Embraces Engagement and Pregnancy News
The reality star expressed his initial reservations about his daughter's much older fiancé, Jason Galanis, but ultimately prioritized his daughter's happiness.
Todd Chrisley has revealed his initial reservations about his daughter Savannah Chrisley's relationship with Jason Galanis, a man 20 years her senior. Despite his initial opposition, Chrisley stated on a recent podcast appearance that he now embraces Savannah's engagement and news of their upcoming child, emphasizing that his daughter's happiness is paramount.
Speaking on Bunnie Xo's podcast, Todd Chrisley admitted, "It was not something that I embraced... to the point where I had a choice to make, either embrace my daughter’s decision or lose my daughter." He underscored his unwavering love for Savannah, stating, "Nothing is ever coming between me and my daughter. I love Savannah with my heart and soul, but did I advocate for this? No."
Chrisley did, however, acknowledge Galanis's positive impact on his daughter. "He has treated her with the utmost of respect. He has never had children, he’s divorced for many years, went through a very difficult time in his life, and that’s their story to tell," he said. He also recalled a conversation with Galanis, where he told him that while Savannah might consider him her only love, he would not be hers. Galanis reportedly responded, "Well, it’s my job while I am to make sure that she never forgets it."
Todd Chrisley explained that a secure and loving upbringing allows children to pursue what makes them happy, knowing they have parental support. "If it ended tomorrow, it’s already been a blessing, because my daughter knows how she’s supposed to be treated," he added.
He also hinted that Savannah and Galanis might already be married, teasing that more details would be revealed soon. "I think that all the haters that have commented this morning about Savannah’s life [are] going to go back and start deleting when she releases the rest of her story next week," Chrisley stated. He expressed his excitement about becoming a grandfather.
Savannah Chrisley, 29, recently announced her engagement to Galanis, 56, and her pregnancy. Galanis has a history of financial fraud convictions, including a $60 million scheme targeting the Oglala Sioux tribe and other investment fraud schemes. He was also associated with Hunter Biden and testified before the House Oversight Committee in March 2024. President Donald Trump commuted Galanis's 15-year prison sentence in March 2025.
Notably, Todd Chrisley and Galanis served time together at the same Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, from January to August 2023. Todd and his wife, Julie Chrisley, were convicted in June 2022 for conspiring to defraud banks and evade federal taxes, though they were later pardoned by Trump in May 2025.
