Todd Chrisley Approves Daughter Savannah's Marriage to Jason Galanis After Initial Hesitation

Todd Chrisley has revealed his feelings about his daughter Savannah Chrisley's recent marriage to Jason Galanis, admitting he did not initially approve of their relationship due to their significant age difference. Savannah, 29, married Galanis, 56, in July and the couple is expecting their first child.

Chrisley, 57, discussed the marriage on Bunnie Xo’s Dumb Blonde podcast, stating, "He’s 20 years older, it was not something I embraced." He explained that he ultimately had to choose between embracing his daughter's decision or losing her, emphasizing, "And nothing is ever coming between me and my daughter." While he did not actively advocate for the relationship, he acknowledged that Galanis has treated Savannah with respect.

Galanis, who is 27 years Savannah's senior, was sentenced to over 15 years in prison in 2020 for his involvement in two multimillion-dollar fraud schemes. However, his sentence was commuted by President Donald Trump on March 28, 2025.

Todd Chrisley noted that Galanis had gone through a difficult period before meeting Savannah and praised him for seeking his permission before proposing. "He came to me, he asked for her hand in marriage," Todd said, recalling his own words to Galanis: "You do understand that she may be the only love that you claim you’ve ever had, but you won’t be her only love." Galanis reportedly responded, "Well, it’s my job while I am to make sure she never forgets it."

Savannah previously was engaged to Nic Kerdiles, who died in September 2023. Galanis was previously married to Monet Berger for ten years before they separated in May 2016. Berger filed for divorce in August 2017, citing irreconcilable differences and alleging Galanis had forged her name on tax documents and that she was a victim of his crimes. Their marriage was ultimately dissolved by the court as it was not legally registered.

Savannah announced her pregnancy on Instagram, sharing a montage of clips with Galanis. While she referred to him as 'J,' her partner was soon identified as Galanis. The couple secretly married in July 2026 in an intimate ceremony in the Cayman Islands.

Savannah expressed her joy and relief on Instagram, writing, "I’ve prayed for this life. I’ve cried for this life. And there were moments I truly wondered if this life would ever be mine." She described Galanis as her "protector, fiercest fighter and safe place" and credited him with healing her after past heartbreak. She also highlighted his attentiveness during her pregnancy, stating, "Not a single doctor’s appointment missed. [He's] constantly caring for me, talking about our baby and reminding me how beautiful my growing bump is."

Savannah and Galanis first met through "the world of politics" last year while she was seeking a presidential pardon for her parents, who were convicted of tax fraud. Todd and Savannah's parents were pardoned by Trump in May 2025 and served two and a half years of their sentences. It was later revealed that Galanis and Todd Chrisley served part of their sentences at the same federal prison in Pensacola, Florida, over eight months in 2023.

Savannah defended her unborn child on Instagram against public scrutiny, writing, "You are innocent, deeply loved, and the greatest blessing God could have ever entrusted your daddy and I with." She added, "No amount of noise in this world will ever overshadow the joy of being your mama."
