Todd Bridges, who gained fame as a child actor on the iconic sitcom "Diff'rent Strokes," was recently seen during a rare public outing in Los Angeles. The 61-year-old actor was photographed while running errands earlier this week, opting for a casual ensemble of khaki shorts, a light gray shirt, sneakers, and printed socks.
Bridges was observed making purchases at a market before navigating a parking structure. His appearance comes as the actor navigates personal matters, having filed for divorce in April from his spouse, Bettijo B. Hirschi. The couple, who married in September 2022, cited irreconcilable differences, with Bridges stating in legal documents that the marriage was "broken beyond repair."
Launched in 1978, "Diff'rent Strokes" followed the story of two African-American brothers from Harlem who are adopted by a wealthy white businessman. Bridges portrayed Willis Jackson, one of the main characters, for the show's eight-season run, which concluded in 1986. He starred alongside Gary Coleman, who played his younger brother Arnold, and Dana Plato, who played the Drummonds' daughter Kimberly.
Bridges began his acting career in the 1970s, with early roles including appearances on "Little House On The Prairie" and "The Waltons." His professional acting debut came in 1975 with a role in "Barney Miller" and the TV movie "Katherine." Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he continued to act in various projects such as "The Ben Stiller Show" and "L.A. Heat." In the early 2000s, Bridges took on the role of Monk in "Everybody Hates Chris." His most recent credited role was in the 2026 movie "Skate To Hell."
Bridges was born in San Francisco in May 1965. He has two children, Spencir and Bo, from his previous marriage to Dori Smith, which lasted from 1998 to 2012. Hirschi, his recent spouse, has four children from a prior relationship.
