Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer Finalize Divorce
The former couple's marital status was terminated on Sept. 21, though some issues remain unresolved.
Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer have officially divorced, with their marital status terminated on September 21. The court documents, obtained by Page Six, restore both parties to the status of single persons.
The judgment of dissolution was filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court, but the former couple has bifurcated their marital status. This means that while their marriage is legally dissolved, other unresolved issues in their divorce will be determined separately.
The court documents do not specify the remaining issues but state that all matters other than the dissolution of their marital status will be handled in subsequent proceedings. The Court will reserve jurisdiction to hear and determine all issues raised by the Petition and Response, other than the dissolution of the parties’ marital status.
Maguire and Meyer, who separated nearly a decade ago, agreed to use a private judge to mediate any outstanding disputes as they work towards a final settlement. The "Spider-Man" star, 51, and the jewelry designer, 49, initially separated in 2016 after nine years of marriage. Meyer filed for divorce in October 2020, four years after their initial separation announcement.
