Karen Derrico, a star of the TLC reality series "Doubling Down with the Derricos," was arrested in Las Vegas on charges including harassment, violating a restraining order, preventing a witness from testifying through threat of violence, and aggravated stalking. The arrests stem from allegations that Derrico sent threatening emails to her ex-husband, Deon Derrico, and their children.
According to court records, one email allegedly sent by Karen Derrico on June 14 stated, "I want you dead. I could kill you, and it won't even bother me to go to jail, and I'll kill any of my kids if they take your side." Another email reportedly threatened that she would have someone kill Deon Derrico and that she planned to obtain a gun. Officials indicated that these messages left Deon Derrico in "reasonable fear of death or substantial bodily harm."
Derrico, 46, has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Her attorney, Jess Marchese, told TMZ that Deon Derrico fabricated the threats and sent the messages to himself. Marchese stated that they are working with tech experts to prove the messages were faked and asserted that Derrico would never threaten her children.
The reality star has been released on a $2,000 bond and is required to wear an ankle monitor. She was arraigned on Tuesday.
"Doubling Down with the Derricos" followed Karen and Deon Derrico as they raised their large family. The couple divorced in 2024. An insider told TMZ that they continued living together after their separation for financial reasons and to maintain family unity. However, Derrico eventually moved out of the family home, taking four of their children with her.
