Titans Release Jordan Elliott After On-Field Altercation, Gun Retrieval

The Tennessee Titans have released defensive tackle Jordan Elliott following an incident last week during which he engaged in a heated altercation with a teammate and subsequently retrieved a firearm from his vehicle. The team announced Elliott's departure on Tuesday.

Elliott, 28, was involved in a dispute with offensive tackle J.C. Latham during practice. According to a source, the argument escalated to the point where the players grabbed each other, and Elliott reportedly grabbed Latham's facemask. Although it is unclear if punches were thrown, teammates intervened to separate the players. Elliott was visibly aggressive and was told to leave the field by coaches, tossing his pads aside before departing.

Later, the incident reportedly continued in the locker room. The source stated that Elliott, still angry, left the locker room and went to the players' parking garage. Security cameras reportedly captured Elliott retrieving what appeared to be a firearm from his car. The situation was de-escalated by teammates, including offensive lineman John Franklin-Myers.

The Titans organization did not provide specific details regarding the incident in their statement, only announcing Elliott's release. "On Thursday, October 15, there was an incident at our team facility involving Jordan Elliott," the statement read. "Following our review of the incident, we have made the decision to release Elliott from our roster. We will have no further comment on the matter."

Elliott was not permitted to attend practice the day after the incident. Coach Robert Saleh commented on Friday that Elliott was "dealing with personal stuff." Elliott also did not travel with the team for their game against the Indianapolis Colts, which the Titans won, marking their first victory of the season.

While the Titans have not filed a police report, they have informed the NFL of the incident. It remains uncertain whether the league will impose disciplinary action on Elliott. His actions are expected to impact his prospects of signing with another NFL team.
