Titans Release Defensive Lineman Jordan Elliott After Facility Incident

The Tennessee Titans have released seventh-year defensive lineman Jordan Elliott, the team announced Tuesday. The decision follows an unspecified "incident" that occurred at the team's facility last Thursday.

The Titans stated they will not offer further comment on the matter. Elliott, 28, was not listed with an injury designation on Wednesday or Thursday, but missed practice on Friday and was subsequently ruled out of the Week 6 game against the Indianapolis Colts for non-injury related/personal reasons.

This move comes after the Titans signed Elliott to a two-year, $8 million contract in the offseason. The signing reunited him with head coach Robert Saleh, who served as the 49ers' defensive coordinator during the 2025 season when Elliott played for San Francisco.

Elliott entered the NFL in 2020 as a third-round draft pick of the Cleveland Browns, where he played for four seasons, recording five sacks in 66 games. He then moved to the 49ers, appearing in 31 games with 29 starts and accumulating 50 combined tackles. This season with the Titans, Elliott had played in all five games, starting one, and registered 11 combined tackles before his recent absence.

Elliott has played in 102 career games, starting 65, and has recorded five sacks. His release now casts uncertainty on his NFL future, with the specifics of the incident likely to influence any potential interest from other teams.

In related news, the Titans achieved an upset victory over the Colts in Week 6, a result that led to the firing of longtime Colts general manager Chris Ballard. The Titans, now 1-5, are set to host the Cleveland Browns next, who are currently 4-2 and tied for the lead in the AFC North.
