Titans CEO Apologizes to Fans for Rough Start, Vows Support for Head Coach Saleh

Tennessee Titans CEO Burke Nihill has issued a public apology to the team's fanbase for the struggles experienced during the current NFL season, acknowledging the "grief" caused by a dismal start. Despite the team's five consecutive losses and a winless record, Nihill affirmed his support for first-year head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Mike Borgonzi.

The Titans are one of three teams, alongside the Los Angeles Chargers and Miami Dolphins, still seeking their first victory of the season. Their upcoming game against the Indianapolis Colts could mark an 0-6 start if they do not secure a win.

"The first thing I would say back to the fans is just that we're sorry," Nihill told ESPN. "There's nobody in this building that doesn't feel… a sense of grief about it, because not only are we fans of the team as well, but we feel the sense of responsibility to deliver. And we've let our fans down because football is supposed to be fun."

Nihill stated that he feels a "sense of stability" in the team's leadership and is confident that Borgonzi and Saleh will guide the Titans back to competitiveness. "The train is on the tracks. It just hasn't picked up momentum, but it will," Nihill said, adding that the organization has "all the support they need to get this train moving and moving faster."

Saleh, a former head coach for the New York Jets, echoed this sentiment, promising that "the sun is going to shine on this organization eventually." He acknowledged the team is facing adversity but expressed belief in the growth that can come from overcoming these challenges.

The Titans' offense, led by quarterback Cam Ward, the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft, has faced difficulties this season. The team has won only three games since Borgonzi became general manager ahead of the 2025 season, and a total of six games since 2024.
