Actress Tina Malone, 63, unveiled a new pixie cut hairstyle on Thursday during an appearance on Good Morning Britain. Malone, known for her role in "Shameless," was on the program with Terry Christian to discuss current events, including a segment on social care.
During the broadcast, Malone commented on the proposed overhaul of England's adult social care system by Prime Minister Andy Burnham, whom she described as the "best of the bunch" among past party leaders. She also revealed that her mother is currently dealing with an undisclosed illness.
Malone, who has undergone a significant weight loss of 12.5 stone since having a gastric band fitted in 2010, shared that she continues to struggle with her body image, stating she "still feels that fat girl" inside. "I look in the mirror, and it doesn't quite feel as good as I guess I should feel," she said in October.
She discussed her motivation for losing weight, emphasizing it was for her health and for her youngest daughter, Flame, whom she gave birth to at age 50. Malone has maintained a lower profile recently while mourning the loss of her husband, Paul Chase, who died by suicide in March 2024 at the age of 41. Chase had battled Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) following his service as an army veteran.
Malone reflected on her grief, telling a podcast editor that she "relishes the thought of dying" to be reunited with her late spouse, but that her commitment to her daughter Flame keeps her going. She stated she would not consider dating again. She also recalled receiving her husband's final text messages hours after they were sent, coinciding with the arrival of police who informed her of his death.
