Tim Westwood Faces Additional Sexual Offense Charges
Former BBC DJ now faces 17 charges involving nine women, with trials scheduled for 2027.
Tim Westwood, a former DJ for BBC Radio 1 and Capital Xtra, has been charged with two additional sexual offenses by the Metropolitan Police. These new charges include an alleged indecent assault dating back to 1991 and a sexual assault from 2004.
The 1991 incident reportedly involved a teenage girl aged 16 to 17 in Hammersmith and Fulham. The 2004 allegation concerns the sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman in Wandsworth.
These charges are in addition to 15 offenses previously brought against Westwood, 68, in October 2025. Those earlier charges, which include four counts of rape, involve seven women. Westwood has denied multiple sex offenses and pleaded not guilty to the initial charges in December.
Westwood now faces a total of 17 charges involving nine different women. Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy of the Metropolitan Police Service stated, "The women who have made reports have placed their trust in us, and we remain committed to providing them with all available support." Westwood is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court for the two new charges at a future date. A trial for the original 15 charges is set to commence on January 25, 2027, at Southwark Crown Court.
