Right-wing podcaster Tim Pool abruptly left the stage during a Jubilee debate after a progressive commentator accused him of profiting from sensationalist claims about a potential U.S. civil war. The incident occurred during a debate titled “1 Moderate vs 20 Liberals” when commentator Mason, also known as @OneHandPolitics, challenged Pool's repeated assertions that the United States is heading towards civil unrest.
Pool had argued that his videos on the subject discuss a "cold civil war or some kind of cultural civil war" and that he does not have a "strong prediction" on the matter. Mason countered, stating that Pool has frequently predicted such an event since 2019, pointing to numerous video titles containing the phrase "civil war" displayed in large fonts.
"So why is that? It's sensationalist. It's easy to get clicks on that. There’s a reason why you say it because it’s very profitable for your business," Mason said. Pool, who has previously shared videos with titles like “CIVIL WAR IS COMING” and “Are You Ready For The Second American Civil War?”, defended his content by noting the extensive catalog of his "Timcast IRL" podcast, which comprises approximately 1,600 episodes.
Mason further likened Pool's predictions to those of Christians who predict the apocalypse annually. As Mason continued speaking, Pool attempted to interject. "You want a soapbox? You want me to get you a soapbox?" Pool asked. He then stood up and walked off the set, stating, "I can leave. You want me to leave?"
Following Pool's departure, Mason donned a prop beanie, mimicking Pool's common headwear, and addressed the camera. "The civil war is happening next year. It's coming. Make sure you subscribe to Timcast'... It's easy to do what you do, bro," Mason said, imitating Pool's style. Pool later returned to the debate after Mason left the table.
