Tim Jefferies, Ex-Husband of Prince Andrew's Former Girlfriend Koo Stark, Faces New Bankruptcy Claim
The businessman, who once received a substantial inheritance, is now embroiled in bankruptcy proceedings.
Tim Jefferies, the former husband of Koo Stark, an ex-girlfriend of Prince Andrew, is facing new bankruptcy proceedings. A Liechtenstein firm, part of the global financial services giant Crowe Global, has initiated the action against Jefferies, who turns 65 next month.
Crowe Global reported revenues of £4.37 billion in 2024 alone. This latest bankruptcy petition follows a similar one brought by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) in 2024. At that time, a spokesperson for Jefferies stated he was confident of a satisfactory resolution.
Jefferies, owner of Hamiltons Gallery in Mayfair, received £500,000 from his grandfather Richard Tompkins, the founder of the Argos chain, in 1984. This sum was reportedly sufficient to purchase three substantial townhouses in Kensington at the time.
Jefferies married Stark in 1984. He later married Swedish model Malin Johansson in 2008, with whom he has a teenage son and daughter. The couple parted in 2019, and Jefferies has since moved from the £7.7 million Notting Hill house they shared to the more affordable area of Hammersmith.
In 2024, Jefferies received a six-month driving ban after being caught driving his silver Bentley Continental at 25 mph on Cromwell Road in west London. The speed limit on that road was reduced to 20 mph by London Mayor Sadiq Khan. Jefferies' gallery reported reserves of just £76,000 this year.
His lawyer has indicated that the current court action "will be resolved."
