Tim Jefferies, Ex-Husband of Koo Stark, Faces New Bankruptcy Proceedings

Tim Jefferies, an art dealer and former husband of Koo Stark, is reportedly facing new bankruptcy proceedings. A Liechtenstein-based firm, part of the global financial services giant Crowe Global, has initiated the action against Jefferies.

Crowe Global reported revenues of £4.37 billion in 2024 alone. This new bankruptcy petition follows a similar one filed against Jefferies by HMRC, the UK's tax authority, in the same year. At that time, a spokesperson for Jefferies stated he was confident of a satisfactory resolution.

Jefferies, who founded Hamiltons Gallery in Mayfair, was previously married to Koo Stark in 1984. In the same year, he received £500,000 from his grandfather Richard Tompkins, founder of the Argos chain, an amount sufficient to purchase three substantial townhouses in Kensington.

Jefferies, who is approaching his 65th birthday, has reportedly moved out of the £7.7 million Notting Hill home he shared with his wife Malin Johansson. The couple, who married in 2008 and have a teenage son and daughter, separated in 2019. Jefferies now resides in Hammersmith. His Mayfair gallery reported reserves of only £76,000 this year.

Last year, Jefferies received a six-month driving ban for exceeding the speed limit in his Bentley Continental on Cromwell Road in west London. The speed limit on that road was reduced to 20 mph by London Mayor Sadiq Khan.

Jefferies' lawyer has indicated that the current court action "will be resolved."
