A TikTok influencer, Sara Gilson, also known as Sara Duffey, was found dead in her Oklahoma home on July 24, along with her estranged husband, Jeremiah "Shawn" Duffey. Authorities are investigating the incident as a possible murder-suicide.
Gilson, 41, had posted a TikTok video on July 11, alleging that her husband was a pedophile. She had recently filed a protective order against Duffey, 48, on June 10. According to local outlet KTUL, police responded to a domestic call at Gilson's home and discovered both individuals deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
An extended family member identified the deceased as Gilson and Duffey, stating that Duffey allegedly broke into the home before killing Gilson and then himself. Police confirmed the identities but have not officially classified the incident as a murder-suicide. Authorities have indicated there is no public threat at this time. The 911 call was reportedly placed by a juvenile present in the house.
Duffey was under court order to stay at least 100 yards away from Gilson as part of the protective order. On the same day Gilson filed her protective order, another woman filed a separate protective order against Duffey. This woman accused Duffey of kissing and fondling her 15-year-old daughter, who was on a youth basketball team coached by Duffey. According to The Oklahoman, the woman alleged Duffey had sent the teenager inappropriate messages and paid her to maintain silence. The Owasso Police Department had received a report regarding these allegations.
Court records indicate Gilson had previously filed two protective orders against Duffey, but both were dismissed due to her failure to appear at the hearings, as reported by People.
Gilson and Duffey shared children together. Police were contacted by Fox News Digital for confirmation and further details regarding the case.
