Tiger Woods has re-entered the public eye through a pre-recorded video appearance, sparking a divided reaction among fans regarding his appearance and well-being. The golfer, who was honoring retired golfer Notah Begay at the Payne Stewart Award ceremony on Tuesday, was described by some viewers as looking like "a shell of his former self" and "spaced out."

However, others defended Woods, with some commenting that he appeared "normal" and "healthy." One fan expressed optimism, stating, "Clearly sober here. Nice to see," while another supporter commented, "Wow, Tiger looks great."

In the video tribute, Woods, 50, reflected on his long-standing friendship with Begay, dating back to their junior golf days. He also lauded Begay's achievements on the PGA Tour and his extensive charitable work, which has benefited over 80,000 youths and their families in Native American communities. "I just think more people need to know what you’ve done and how you’ve served, and you’ve given back to the tribal lands and what you have done," Woods said in the video. "There are so many people out there who are struggling in those communities."

Woods has maintained a low profile since his arrest for driving under the influence following a rollover accident in Jupiter Island, Florida, in March. Authorities at the time reported that he exhibited "signs of impairment" and declined a breathalyzer test, although a negative result was recorded. Subsequent searches found "two white pills" in his possession, later identified as hydrocodone, a narcotic pain reliever.

Woods pleaded not guilty to the charges on March 31 and subsequently entered a rehabilitation facility in Switzerland, where he remained intermittently until mid-June. An insider close to Woods told People that the golfer was experiencing "a great deal of stress" following his time in rehab. The source added that Woods is "determined to return" to professional golf, but faces challenges with pain management and maintaining a fitness routine. "This could be tough. But it’s something he wants," the source said.

Additionally, Woods has reportedly stayed in contact with his girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, who revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in May.
