Golfer Tiger Woods appeared in a Florida court Wednesday and changed his plea in a driving under the influence case stemming from a March rollover crash. As part of a plea agreement, Woods agreed to a five-year suspension of his driver's license.

Woods initially pleaded not guilty to charges of driving under the influence with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test. The prosecution amended the first charge to reckless driving, second offense, and the second charge to a citation for careless driving. The judge ordered the license suspensions for both charges to run concurrently.

"The license suspension is for the safety of the public," the judge stated in court. "There are no exceptions. If you were to drive for any reason at all, you would go immediately back to jail."

Woods was arrested on March 27 in Jupiter Island, Florida, following a single-vehicle accident. Authorities reported that Woods clipped the back of a truck's trailer while attempting to pass it, causing his SUV to overturn. No injuries were reported in the crash.

During the investigation, two hydrocodone pills were found in Woods' possession. A breathalyzer test indicated no alcohol in his system, but Woods declined to submit to a urine test, which is used to detect drugs or medication.

Woods was accompanied in court by his girlfriend, Vanessa Trump.
