Tiger Woods Eyes TGL Comeback After DUI Saga, Pal Reveals

Tiger Woods is reportedly preparing to play in the upcoming TGL season, following a rehabilitation period after his DUI arrest in March. PGA Tour player Kevin Kisner, a co-host of the "Fore Play" podcast, suggested that Woods' desire to compete for a full season was a reason for changes in team rosters for the indoor golf league.

Kisner stated that his own two-year contract with Jupiter Links Golf was not renewed partly due to Woods' intention to play. He mentioned that Keith Mitchell was being signed to the team, a decision Kisner supported while acknowledging it allows him to spend January and February away from travel. "Tiger wants to play and then they wanted to sign Keith Mitchell," Kisner said on the podcast. "It gives me a chance to hang out in January and February instead of flying back and forth to Palm Beach every Monday."

Kisner expressed that while he is no longer a full-time player for Jupiter Links, he anticipates remaining involved with the team in some capacity and hopes for their continued success. "I think I might even have some equity in the team or something from playing, so I hope they continue to win and win a bunch of money," he added.

Woods, who was arrested for DUI in Jupiter Island, Florida, following a single-vehicle crash, had returned to action on the final night of the TGL season on March 24. He later underwent a rehabilitation stint after the incident. Woods pleaded not guilty to the DUI charge.

Woods completed his rehabilitation in June. He also faced legal proceedings related to a February 2021 car crash that severely injured his right leg. In that incident, Woods refused a urine test after the rollover crash, although breathalyzer tests showed zero alcohol. He reported having taken prescription medication prior to the crash, and two hydrocodone pills were found in his possession during a search.

Kisner also speculated that Woods might participate in the Hero World Challenge and the PNC Championship. "The way he was swinging and moving on the range, I mean, the guy loves to compete," Kisner commented. "Come back, get your feet with at the hero, play with Charlie in the father-son, play some TGL [and] get ready for August."
