Tiffiny Hall Cuts Ties With Sam Wood Amid Domestic Violence Charges
Celebrity trainer Tiffiny Hall has publicly distanced herself from "long-time friend" Sam Wood following his arrest on domestic violence charges.
Celebrity trainer Tiffiny Hall has announced she is cutting ties with fitness personality Sam Wood, citing shock and disturbance over his recent domestic violence charges. Hall, who had previously merged her workout business TXO with Wood's "28 by Sam Wood" platform, released a statement on Monday expressing her zero tolerance for violence of any kind.
"It is unacceptable and entirely at odds with the standards, core values and culture I wish to cultivate," Hall stated on Instagram. "I am shocked and disturbed by the charges against Sam Wood reported in the media. As the matter is before the court, I will not comment on it."
Hall also clarified that her involvement with "28 by Sam Wood" had already concluded before the news of the charges emerged. "Before this news, my time with 28 by Sam Wood had already come to an end and I had moved on to focus on other projects. I have no ongoing role or involvement with the program."
She concluded her statement by sending thoughts to victims of domestic and family violence. "My thoughts are with any victim-survivors of domestic and family violence, and with anyone distressed or triggered by these reports. I will continue to empower women to be safe, strong and supported in any way I can."
The merger of Hall's TXO program with "28 by Sam Wood" occurred in September of the previous year. At the time, Hall described Wood as a "friend" and "long-time industry mate," noting their aligned missions to empower Australian women through health and fitness.
The integration of TXO workouts into the "28 by Sam Wood" app has led to confusion among some of Hall's followers, who are seeking ways to access her workouts independently of Wood's platform. Several Instagram users expressed their desire to continue using Hall's programs but indicated they wished to cancel their subscriptions to "28 by Sam Wood."
Wood, a well-known figure in the fitness industry and a former star of "The Bachelor," founded "28 by Sam Wood," which he sold for $71 million in 2022. The company DBG Health, the parent company of "28 by Sam Wood," has stated it has zero tolerance for domestic violence and has placed Wood on indefinite leave.
"While the matter is under investigation and before the court, Sam Wood is on indefinite leave from his duties. Our thoughts are with the family and anyone in the community affected by domestic violence," a DBG Health spokesperson said. Mark Watkins, the Chief Operating Officer of 28 Group, will be leading the business during Wood's absence.
Wood, 46, was arrested on Saturday after police responded to reports of alleged domestic violence at a property in Noosa. He faces charges including assault occasioning bodily harm (domestic violence) and strangulation in a domestic setting. His legal representative requested the case be relisted on Thursday, when Wood is expected to apply for bail. He remains in local watchhouse custody until at least that date.
Another public figure, Tammin Sursok, has also paused her partnership with "28 by Sam Wood" in light of the allegations, stating she has zero tolerance for domestic and family violence and has removed related promotional content from her social media channels.
