Guest host Tiffany Haddish on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" recently targeted President Donald Trump, linking a controversy surrounding the U.S. Men's National Soccer Team's performance in the FIFA World Cup to his long-standing sensitivity about the size of his hands.
Haddish, a comedian and actor, began her monologue by teasing the U.S. soccer team following their loss to Belgium. She then pivoted to suggest that Trump's alleged intervention might have contributed to the team's performance.
According to reports, Trump reportedly called FIFA President Gianni Infantino after U.S. player Folarin Balogun received a red card and was suspended. Balogun's suspension was subsequently reversed following the call. This intervention reportedly angered fans of other national teams, with some speculating that the president's involvement may have influenced the Belgian team's play.
"People are blaming Donald Trump for the loss after he got FIFA to help Team USA," Haddish stated during her monologue. "It seems like everything Trump touches dies — which I guess is why his tiny hands are all fucked up."
Trump has historically been sensitive to commentary regarding the size of his hands. Reports and observations have often noted the presence of large bruises on his hands, which he has reportedly attempted to conceal with makeup. The White House has attributed these bruises to a combination of frequent handshaking and aspirin use.
