Youri Tielemans has spoken about the physical toll of a demanding schedule, including matches for both club and country, which led to an injury issue. The midfielder, who recently completed a move to Manchester United, described experiencing an "overload of too many games; too many minutes" during a period that saw him play in a World Cup quarter-final and a subsequent match against the United States.
Tielemans made his professional debut at 16 and has accumulated 668 games for club and country. He detailed an incident where, during a warm-up for a match against Spain last month, his body "just switched off for some reason." He emphasized that while he does not believe he is a player who absolutely needs frequent rest, his body indicated it could no longer cope with the intensity of the schedule.
He expressed confidence in his ability to recognize when he is not performing at his best, stating, "When it does not go well, I will know straight away and I will alert the manager. But it does not happen often."
