Three men were stabbed in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, early Monday morning, authorities reported. The incident occurred near Carroll Street and Utica Avenue around 5:48 a.m., hours before the West Indian American Day parade was scheduled to begin.

Police stated that a 32-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were stabbed in the neck, while a 36-year-old man sustained a stab wound to the face. Emergency medical services transported all three victims to Kings County Hospital. The 32-year-old man remains in critical condition, while the other two victims are reported to be in stable condition.

As of the report, no arrests had been made. The stabbing took place several blocks from the J’Ouvert Festival, which typically precedes the main parade.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch announced that the parade would conclude by 5:30 p.m. This decision follows an incident last year where six people were shot during the festivities. Thousands of police officers were deployed throughout the parade routes and surrounding neighborhoods from Sunday night into Monday, representing one of the department's largest operational deployments of the year.
