Three More Arrested in Connection with Manchester Street Stabbing Death
Investigation continues into the death of Alisha Samuels, with recent arrests bringing the total to four.
Police have arrested three additional suspects in connection with the stabbing death of Alisha Samuels, a 26-year-old woman found with fatal injuries on Dorking Avenue in Manchester on October 15. The arrests were made on Wednesday, with two 19-year-old men taken into custody on suspicion of murder, and a 48-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
All three remain in police custody for questioning, Greater Manchester Police confirmed. These arrests follow the charging of Lawrence Johnson, 26, of Manchester, on Tuesday with the murder of Ms. Samuels and the attempted murder of another man. Johnson was remanded in custody and was scheduled to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
The investigation is being led by detectives from Greater Manchester Police's Major Incident Team, with support from specialist firearms officers and the Force Critical Wanted Unit.
Detective Chief Inspector Justin Bryant stated that the investigation team has worked continuously over the past six days. "With the support of our Force Critical Wanted Unit, we have now detained three further individuals believed to be involved in her death," Bryant said. He added that the team is focused on establishing the full circumstances of the incident and is committed to securing justice for Ms. Samuels' loved ones.
Officers were initially alerted to the disturbance by locals who reported hearing "screaming and shouting." Tributes from friends have described Ms. Samuels as a "beautiful soul" and someone who was "beautiful inside and out." Friends recalled her sense of humor, her plans for future travels, and her kindness.
