Three Injured in Shooting Near Pittsburgh High School Football Game
An altercation led to a shooting near George K Cupples Stadium on Thursday night, with authorities searching for the suspect.
At least three people were wounded Thursday night in a shooting that occurred near a high school football game in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The incident took place around 9:50 p.m. near Pittsburgh Public Schools’ George K Cupples Stadium on the city's South Side, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.
Authorities reported that the victims, two men and one woman, were injured following an unspecified altercation. Police officers were already present at the scene attempting to de-escalate a fight when shots were fired in the vicinity of South 9th and East Carson streets, and South 7th and Cabot streets.
The unidentified victims were transported to a local hospital and are reported to be in stable condition. A manhunt is currently underway for the individual responsible for the shooting.
The football game between Westinghouse High School and University Prep had concluded before the shots were fired. It remains unclear if any students were among those injured in the incident.
